Derived from სიკეთე (siḳete) through internal formation, ultimately from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ḳet- (“to add, mix”). See also მკეთებელი (mḳetebeli, “doer”), which is derived from კეთება (ḳeteba), containing the same root.
