Simpson Peninsula

Named after Sir George Simpson, a colonial governor (viceroy) of Rupert's Land, for the British colony corporation of the Hudson's Bay Company, by explorer John Rae.

Simpson Peninsula

1. A peninsula between the Boothia Peninsula to the west and Melville Peninsula to the east, surrounded by Pelly Bay on its west coast, Committee Bay on its east coast, and Gulf of Boothia to the north. (A peninsula located on the mainland portion of Nunavut, in the Canadian Arctic.)
